USA Hockey 1980 Miracle on Ice 8×10 Photo Display w/ Ticket (SGA Signature Series Feat. Herb Brooks) Framed Description
Do you believe in miracles? They called it a miracle and, for once, it really was – not the typical sports hyperbole. The U.S. Olympic hockey team, thrashed by the Russians 10-3 in an exhibition game days before the 1980 Games began, somehow found a way to beat powerhouse Russia, and then Finland, to win the most unlikely gold medal in US Olympic history. Players included: Mike Eruzione, Jim Craig, Steve Christoff, Neal Broten, Mark Pavelich, Dave Silk, Mark Johnson, Phil Verchota, William ‘Buzz’ Schneider, Mike Ramsey, Eric Strobel, Dave Christian, John Harrington, Jack O’Callahan, Bill Baker, Ken Morrow, Bob Suter, Mark Wells, Rob McLanahan and Steve Janaszak. The coach, of course, was the now deceased Herb Brooks, a hockey coaching legend. Remember one of the greatest sports moments in the 20th century, and arguably the greatest US sports moment ever, with this timeless 8×10 photograph of the team’s victory celebration after their win over the USSR. This classic photo is part of our Exclusive SGA Signature Series, unsigned displays that include an SGA facsimile signature plate. In this case we’ve combined the photo with coach Herb Brooks signature, the leader of this band of over-achievers. Also included is a laser-engraving of Coach Brooks’ special ‘USA ‘Gold’ ’80’ inscription, all on a custom full plate that also has Al Michaels’ famous ‘DO YOU BELIEVE IN MIRACLES?’ and the score of the game, along with a description of the ‘miracle.’ Finally, this display also features a replica ticket from this historic match-up. A lot of good stuff in one totally unique presentation, this is a terrific piece of Sports Art commemorating a great…great…U.S. sports moment. Please note: shot has vintage blurred look common in historic sports photographs.
